PhotoMathS.T.E.A.M.Challenges at Home

Asynchronous programs are recorded videos with step-by-step activities and come with one live ZOOM session so kids can share their projects with the class and instructors can provide feedback.

Class schedule: Classes are accessible at any time of day and are offered via individual one hour sessions or in a four-class block. Your student can participate at any time of day that fits the families’ home schedule.
Technological requirements: Students must have access to a laptop, Chromebook, or computer with a working camera and sound for our ZOOM synchronous meeting.

3. Maker experience brings learning to life through hands-on activities that allow students to be creative and solve fun problems.
                                                                                         
Activities Offered:

Asynchronous with or without supplies. The curriculum is Cooking with Math, Slime Adventures, Spy Fun, and Engineering.  These classes are grade-specific K-2, 3-5 and 6-8.


The S.T.E.A.M. Challenge at Home is a wonderful way for kids to learn and brush up on their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. 


S.T.E.M. at Home engages kids through discovery learning activities in Cooking with Math, Slime Adventures, Spy Fun, and Engineering.   These activities encourage kids to solve problems 

while learning core concepts.

Cooking with Math 

Pizza dough - Find the circumference if circular

                       Find the area - if a square 

Trail mix - using measurement to learn about proportions.

SpyFun

Basic coding learning the reverse alphabet code

                         learn about the morse code

                         Make a morse code transmitter.


Slime Adventures

Learn recipes for homemade slime

                          make scientific evaluations on different slime.

Engineering is Fun

Students create a water bottle car

                             K-2 make a sail car

                             3 - 5 make a balloon-powered car.

                             6 - 8 make a motorized car w/propeller.


Kids participate in hands-on discovery-based learning projects. They imagine, create, explore, and learn. This is a perfect experience to engage the whole family in students learning.
